A tall, handsome evergreen tree up to 30 metres in height. Its many branches bear clusters of small white flowers and later red berries.

Comments on Camphor (White): Camphor is a dangerous oil if used incorrectly, yet it has powerful properties that make it an excellent choice for some conditions, used under the advise of a trained professional.~Camphor is known as a very toxic oil and can easily cross the blood/placenta barrier to cause serious, often fatal problems for the fetus.~There have been reports of instant respiratory collapse of infants following application of camphor to their nostrils.~It is known that ingestion can be lethal - one millilitre of camphor caused the death of a 26 month old and a 29 month old child.~Camphor readily causes epileptiform convulsions if taken in sufficient quantity.
