Similar to Lemon Grass in appearance, its grass-like leaves are more slender, with a reddish base, and unlike Lemon Grass, this readily flowers in temperate climates.

Odour of Essential Oil of Citronella: Camphorous lemon.
Colour of Essential Oil of Citronella: Dark yellow.
Source of Essential Oil of Citronella: Fresh grass.
Method of Extraction of Citronella: Steam distillation.
Contra-Indications for Citronella: May cause skin irritation. Inhallation could increase heart rate.
Comments on Citronella: Native to soutn east Aisa this plant is also grown in Sri Lanka, India, Burma, Indonesia, Java and Costa Rica.~Citronella is primarily used as an insect repellant and can be used in blends for room deodorizers.
