Essential Oil of Clove (Bud) (Syzygium aromaticum or Eugenia caryophyllata) Abbr: Clo [to top of page] A slender evergreen with a smooth grey trunk, up to 12 metres high. It has large bright green leaves on short stalks. At the start of the rainy season long buds appear that have a rosy-pink corolla at the tip. As the corolla fades the calyx turns deep red. Actions of Essential Oil of Clove (Bud): Bone healing, immuno-stimulant, insect repellent, warming. Digestion: Diarrhea, flatulence, gum infection, indigestion, intestinal parasites, parasites, sore gums, tooth decay, toothache, ulcers. Immune: Colds, flu, immuno-stimulant, viral infection.
