Comments on Sage: Sage is grown around the world in dry hot areas.~The high level of the chemical thujone makes this a potentially toxic oil that should only be used by skilled aromatherapists, and then with care.~Thujone can cause epileptic seizures or convulsions and is toxic to the central nervous system in larger amounts (a few extra drops can make the difference).~The oil is not to be used during pregnancy as it may cause violent uterine spasms and could cross the blood/placenta barrier.~Sage is very warming and penetrating to the muscles and has a softening effect on muscles that may have been over developed.~This oil is particularly good for mouth and throat infections, wounds and headaches and can be professionally used to assist in childbirth.
