Method of Extraction of peppermint: Steam distillation. Properties of Essential Oil of peppermint: Analgesic, Antibacterial, Antidontalgic, Antiseptic, Antispasmodic, Astringent, Carminative, Cephalic, Decongestant, Emmenagogic, Expectorant, Febrifuge, Hepatic, Insecticide, Nervine, Respiratory, Stimulant, Sudorific, Vasoconstrictor, Vermifuge. Circulatory: Palpitations. Digestion: Diarrhea, gallstones, gum infection, indigestion, liver problems, nausea, stomach cramps, toothache, vomiting. Genito-Urinary: Menstrual pain. Muscular: Abdominal pain, aches and pains, backache, cramps, muscle fatigue, muscle pain. Nervous: Fainting, fatigue, headache, hysteria. Respiratory: Asthma, bronchitis, congestion, cough, cough - asthmatic, headache - sinus, respiratory problems, sinus congestion, sinus infection, throat infection, tuberculosis. Skeletal: Rheumatism. Comments on peppermint: Cultivated since ancient times in China, Japan, and Egypt, Peppermint oil is now grown in North America as well.~Supports the respiratory, immune, nervous and musculoskeletal systems.~The cooling effects can assists against hot flashes associated with menopause, the anti-spasmodic properties help with cramps and fatigue associated with PMS.~eppermint in a cream or oil base, applied to the forehead and neck may help relieve headaches.~It's cephalic properties help to clear the mind.~Peppermint's anti-spasmodic properties also make it valuable for diarrhea, travel sickness, indigestion and vomiting.~Rats, mice, ants and cockroaches show a strong dislike to the odor of peppermint.~This makes a pleasant, and safer alternative to conventional poisons, (but the candy won't work because of the sugar content).
